Applications are now open for 2015-2016 NSLI-Y summer and academic year programs!
The State Department’s National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y) is a merit-based scholarship for high school students to study a foreign language abroad for a summer or academic-year. NSLI-Y programs begin in Summer 2015 for Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, Hindi, Korean, Russian, and Turkish languages. Programs immerse participants in the cultural life of the host country, giving them invaluable formal and informal language practice and sparking a lifetime interest in foreign languages and cultures.
As a program partner, iEARN administers language programs in China, India, Korea, Morocco, and Taiwan. Please join us and encourage current U.S. high school students (ages 15 to 18) to submit an application for a chance to experience a new language and culture through the NSLI-Y program.
The application is available at www.nsliforyouth.org. The deadline for 2015-2016 NSLI-Y programs application is October 30, 2014 at 4 PM EST.
